Service Description

Planting the seeds of postpartum preparation through community, movement, and breathwork. Join Lauren, Birth & Postpartum Doula, and Alex, Yoga Instructor, for 90 minutes of care and connection. Objective To support women in understanding and preparing for the physical, emotional, and identity shifts of the postpartum period, held within community and guided by healing modalities and practical resources for the fourth trimester. INTRODUCTION & BREATHWORK | 20–30 MIN Participants gather in a circle around a focal point of candles, affirmation cards, and flowers, with a postpartum info pamphlet at each seat. Upon arrival, women are invited to choose an affirmation card that resonates with them. We begin with grounding breathwork, followed by a guided activity: a bag of postpartum-related items is passed around to spark conversation and questions. Topics such as breastfeeding, healing, movement, household support, hormone shifts, and self-care are gently explored. MAIN THEME: GOING DEEPER | 20–30 MIN Each workshop centers on a specific theme (e.g. identity shift & partnership or nourishment & community). We introduce the theme, open space for group discussion, and engage in reflective activities that deepen understanding and connection. Example activity: Participants write qualities of a “good mother” on one page and qualities they value in themselves as independent women on another. They reflect on overlaps, tensions, and what they wish to release or preserve, then discuss insights with a partner. MOVEMENT & REFLECTION | 20 MIN A gentle movement practice highlights the postpartum shift from opening to closing and toning. The flow includes bed-friendly movements for early postpartum and progresses to practices for the first few months, offering safe, practical tools women can use at home. We close by reviewing the postpartum pamphlet and discussing the importance of creating a postpartum plan while participants are feeling supported and inspired by the group. “Postpartum is realizing that bouncing back isn’t just about your body- it’s about your mind, your emotions, and your identity.” Prenatal Yoga participants of 6 week series receive 25% off, use code 'POSTNATAL'. STUDIO, SEASONAL & ONLINE CLASSES: You can book up to 5 mins before a session. You can reschedule and cancel up to 12 hrs in advance on a Class Pass or Membership. Unfortunately, no shows are nonrefundable. If you are scheduled to attend and not within cancellation time frame, please still notify BBY. If it is raining, this class will be held indoors at the closest rainout relocation and live streamed online. You will be given at least 1 hr notice via SMS. If the class is unable to be brought indoors you will receive a reschedule date. PROGRAMS, EVENTS, SERIES, & WORKSHOP: If you are booking with less than 24 hrs before start time, please call, text, or email to notify BBY. You can reschedule and cancel up to 24 hrs in advance.
